3D measurement/modeling of works of art in Geneva

The OA3D consortium, made up of SPATIAL SA, Haller-Wasser + partner SA and TPLM-3D, was commissioned each year to measure and model several dozen engineering structures in 3D.

SPATIAL SA has developed with its partners a robust production chain including:

• Control of 3D clouds of several hundred million points is carried out before modeling. This step is crucial for working on reliable point clouds, controlled over the entire intervention perimeter,
• Modeling with tailor-made tools in 3dS Max (Autodesk, 3D modeling), which respect the specifications of official measurements,
• Texturization of As Built images taken on site: tailor-made photogrammetry algorithms are used to map photographs taken in situ geographically,
• Switching to ESRI for establishing deliverables, via an FME bridge.

SPATIAL SA and its partners have systematically obtained, for each offer published by the Republic and canton of Geneva, at least one lot up to the entirety of the modeling put out for competition. The authorities recognize regularity in our production, as well as an ability to deliver data that is controlled, reliable, and free from geometric or topological errors.
